The idea
The name of the strategy was its substance: make the Lviv region a place where European companies build factories. Sectors, sites and arguments for investors were chosen with that goal in mind.
Roman Matys wrote the strategy himself while heading the Investment Policy Department of the Lviv Regional State Administration, and built from scratch the team that implemented it.
The result
Over five years the region received almost $1 bn of foreign direct investment, and 75,000 jobs were created.
We bring this experience to our work with other regions and communities: a strategy starts with the question of which investor a territory can attract and ends with a team that takes that investor all the way to opening day.
