The Japanese newspaper Mainichi Shimbun, one of Japan’s largest with a circulation of over 7.5 million, wrote about Lviv and Lviv region as a gateway to Europe. Roman Matys, then head of the investment policy department of the Lviv Regional State Administration, told the journalists about the results of the region’s investment programme.
“The region’s investment programme has paid off,” he said. Foreign direct investment in the region doubled in a year. The largest investors came from Poland, Cyprus and Germany.
