The derelict Sambir bakery has a new owner. A modern cardboard and paper packaging plant is planned on the site, for the Ukrainian market and for export to the EU, so the products will meet EU standards.
Over UAH 70 million is planned for the renovation, with up to 200 jobs at market wages. The project manager promised to pay enough “that there will be no point going to Poland”.
Sambir is Roman Matys’s home town. The #investinlvivregion team he led at the time supported the project with advice.
